Interior Exterior History

We have tried to create a feeling of luxury, warmth and security on T.G. Her interior is completely bespoke, created by local craftsmen in solid iroko throughout.

She has a bright red range cooker in the galley saloon and two bedroom cabins (A double and 2 singles). She has a full height domestic shower with lashings of piping hot water and full central heating.

We feel its important to preserve the working history of this old girl, so we have deliberately avoided over restoring the hull - you'll see her etched trading marks, and some lumps and bumps (battle scars!) on the hull.

We've kept the original oak leeboards and rig in full working order, and she has a large teak cockpit for dining al fresco or having that sundowner.

Originally a working barge under sail, then converted to motor and sail probably in the 1920's/30's, TG has always had to earn her living. Nowadays, these barges are kept in Northern Holland by villages that race against each other.

If you have a few minutes, please take a look at them racing in this You Tube clip. Its outrageous! I promise your stay on TG is lot more upright!
