We're not a big company, just a couple who want to share their barge with you. It really is important to us that you have a holiday to remember - for all the right reasons!
The barge is permanently moored at the Waveney River Centre marina, which offers great on site services including a swimming pool (included in your holiday), a shop and a pub.
We include a 4 man canoe and lifejackets in your rental - its just a fab way to travel.
There is one of our ' Grab an Adventure' kitbags on board which includes a simple fishing rod, pond dipping net, nature spotting equipment and binoculars.
All services are open all year 'round, but as you can imagine, the flavour of your holiday can vary tremendously depending on the season. |

Of course, this is when the Broads are at their busiest, and arguably their most interesting. Boats are afloat, both privately owned and hire boats, and there is always something to see.
We love the Summer for using the canoe, the fishing and spending time in the cockpit watching the world go by. The younger kids are happy as there is a park and adventure playground on site.
Being a popular location in a popular area, it does get busy. The Waveney River Centre offers camping and caravanning on site, and these pitches are generally full. The site is very well run, and all goes very quiet in the evening! |

We love this time of year. Its so peaceful and tranquil, and we think it makes a very special place to be when the wind is howling, the rain or snow is falling. We had all that this winter, but the people that stayed told us they had a wonderful break. The barge is so lovely and warm, it makes you feel all cuddled! The photo on the right shows the barge completely iced in - we recorded minus 14!

If you read Arthur Ransome's Coot Club, it mentions the 'pyramid block' church and Inn at the Waveney Staithe. Both are just a short walk from the barge.
Beccles is the nearest town, just 10 minutes away by car, and an hour by canoe if you are feeling adventurous!
There are plenty of great shops including a decent deli and coffee house for the footsore!
The Southern Broads are lovely, especially by water, and day boats can be hired on site.
Aim for Somerleyton - Our guests have recommended the Dukes Head and Somerleyton Hall with it's maze and gardens, about 8 miles by road.
For asian fusion food, the White Lion is just a mile away.
'Bewilderwood' is a great outdoor natural tree house adventure park set in 50 acres for the children to go, well, wild!
A little further afield is the trendy seaside town of Southwold; well worth a day out if you like posh shops, fresh seafood and a sandy beach.
There is plenty more information and ideas on the barge.
